The best studio
podcast kit for 2026

Broadcast microphones, multiple cameras, a video switcher and proper lighting. Everything you need to turn a dedicated room into a podcast studio for you and your guests.

Some of the links below are Amazon affiliate links. If you buy through one we may earn a small commission, at no extra cost to you. It does not affect which products we pick.

Camera

Camera

You need 1 to 3. An interchangeable-lens mirrorless camera made for video. One covers a single host; three give you a wide shot plus a close-up of each person.

You need 1. A video switcher and audio mixer in one. Plug in your cameras and mics, cut between angles as you record, and capture the whole show from your desk.

Lighting

Lighting

You need 2. Your key and fill lights, one either side of the camera, for even, flattering light on every face.

You need 2. Softboxes for the Halo lights. They turn hard LED light into soft light that looks natural on camera.

You need 1. A colour light for the background. It separates you from the wall and adds a splash of brand colour.

Sound

Sound

You need 1 or 2. The broadcast standard for spoken word: warm, close sound that ignores the room. The boom stand holds it steady in front of you.

You need 1 or 2. Closed-back studio headphones, comfortable and accurate for long recording and editing sessions.

You will also need cables, stands and tripods to connect and mount everything above. The exact list depends on your room and how many people you record, so ask us if you are not sure what to buy.

The show is the hard part

Good equipment removes the excuses, but it does not write a format, book the guests or turn an hour of conversation into something people finish. If you would rather not do that part yourself, that is what we do.
