The Eventsigns Woodpecker Stages Rally, on Saturday 30th August this year, saw 6 Bowler Motorsport Defender 90’s compete in Shropshire, finishing at the Ludlow Racecourse, Ludlow.

The Defender Challenge is supported by Land Rover and provides a cost-effective route into experiencing varying rally disciplines and prepares its drivers for rally-raid competitions and ultimately, world famous rally events such as the Dakar Rally.

Jeremy, our Executive Producer, and myself, attended the rally and were positioned on a bend and steep incline on Stage 4, in Overton, 3 miles outside of Ludlow town.

The fastest time for the Defender’s, of Class B13, was set by Edd Cobly and Co. Driver Allan ‘Jacko’ Jackson, pictured below, in 54 minutes and 8 seconds; positioned 25th on the Group Positions table.

The Defender Challenge was incorporated into a wider rally competition for local rally clubs, which included vehicles ranging from Nissan Micra’s to Mitsubishi Evolution’s and some classic vehicles, too.

All 6 Defender’s finished successfully without mechanical failure.
