NewTek Tricaster 40 at IBC 2012

NewTek announced the new Tricaster 40 just a couple of weeks ago and had one on display at IBC. Ben McNeill went to investigate at the IBC NewTek stand.

Press Release:
NewTek has always focused its resources on providing competitive tools to the broadcast industry. After launching the new generation of integrated live production systems at NAB with TriCaster 8000, TriCaster 855 and TriCaster 455, NewTek has developed TriCaster 40, a new system dedicated to the Webcasting industry.

TriCaster 40 is the answer to the professionals of the production on the web, a complete, compact, reliable and affordable solution. The entry level product offers all the features of the other TriCasters, 4 analog inputs SD / HD, Live Titling, multi-media Players, Virtual Set and streaming engine that supports Windows Media and Adobe Flash and a set of plug-ins for integration with the most popular distribution platforms on the web.

The TriCaster 40 features four video inputs, two video outputs and two audio inputs. It also supports the Apple AirPlay protocol, giving the ability to bring external sources into the TriCaster from a mobile device.

TriCaster 40 works with most of the formats and resolution whether your work in SD or HD.

TriCaster 40 comes with several types of media players for playing both internal and external media, thus
supporting a wide range of medias such as video clips, audio clips, stills and titles. TriCaster 40 offers a large variety of title templates and professional graphics that can easily be personalized for your own production.

“There is a massive shift in consumer TV viewing habits. Now that the Internet can handle HD quality, millions of people turn to the Web every day to watch online video. We see this trend in the TriCaster community.

Our worldwide customer’s alone produce over 60,000 hours of live video content every week,” said Dr. Andrew Cross, NewTek CTO. “It’s our mission to make sure we provide the most complete solutions to meet their production needs.”

TriCaster 40, new live production system, brings network style quality shows to more producers, to deliver from anywhere, to the web as a live streamed show or as video on demand.
